The Empire Strikes Back ("Gone With
the Wind" recalled version)

"The Empire Strikes Back", George Lucas 1st sequel to his
highly successful "Star Wars" saga, opened nationwide
There is an international version, also 27 x 41 inches, printed on
thicker paper, without NSS info and rating box.

Here are the three posters I own.
The reprint is on the left, the NSS
version is in the middle, the Studio version
is on the right. Both the NSS version (printed
by National Screen Service) and the Studio version
(printed by 20th Century Fox) are considered original
movie posters. The studio version is usually
found rolled. The NSS version is found folded
and tri-folded. Some rolled versions exist, but they are extremely
rare and very much in demand. |
 |
< Original NSS version
The NSS info can be found at
the lower center of the poster. There are no other markings on
the poster. Both the NSS and the studio versions measure 27 1/8
x 41 1/16 inches. |

< Zig Zag Reprint
Printed by Zig Zag, the reprint is slightly smaller
(27 x 39 7/8 inches) and printed on thicker, glossier paper. Zig
Zag markings can be found at the bottom. |

< Zig Zag Reprint
The Zig Zag reprint was made from an original
Studio version. No NSS reprint exists. |
